First time trying alligator, got the gator bites as an appetizer. It’s busy because it the best place to eat in town but the service was great. I enjoyed my meal and the appetizers and especially loved the beignets. If I’m ever in town again I would go back and try other menu items.

Service was great! Our table of 5 each ordered something different. Everything was delicious! Steak, chicken, Cajun pasta, shrimp and catfish. Onion rings and gator bites were our appetizers. It was our son’s birthday and they sang to him and brought him a big bowl of ice cream. If you’re in the McAlester area, you won’t be disappointed with Captain John’s!

Pulled this place up on Google Maps looking for a good rated place along my trip. All of the food looked great and the people around me enjoyed their meals. I had the gumbo which was fantastic, something I'd find in Baton Rouge. The shrimp poor boy was good too. I'll stop here again my trip through. The staff at the bar are fantastic.
